CenterStage® Math Testimonials

TERRI HAVERTY:

"I have been using CenterStage in my classroom as a part of weekly centers for 2 years now.

I was looking for a self contained center that was rich in activities, addressed the standards, and convenient. CenterStage met all that and more.

My students love this product. The games are motivating and they totally look forward to playing. The best part as a teacher is they are constantly engaged and learning. They work as partners to decipher directions, play the game, and complete the skills pages. They build on their personal math knowledge as well as feeling good about themselves. This program is non threatening even to the most mathematically challenged student. There are three levels for each concept so everyone could play and participate. I also love how easy it is to set up and the store. It truly is a win-win situation. All my students scored in the 80-90% in the area where I implemented CenterStage on their standardized tests. What a success for all of us!"

AMY MATTHEWS:

"I have used this product for two years. I used it in kindergarten to differentiate learning and in the fourth grade as part of a lesson.

I saw this product used by a colleague and saw it's benefits.

It is a great tool for hands on manipulation and reinforcement."

NANCY OUTSEN:

"I have been using CenterStage Math for about 5 months now and have found that it is a great way to help my students understand fractions.

I needed to purchase a large Cuisenaire kit for an advanced math course I took in grad school and absolutely loved the manipulatives. Then I received a Math and Science Sampler of CenterStage and was hooked on the products."

Lori Andersen:

"I just recently bought this product for a class project.

It was listed inside my class book.

I have found it useful in providing hands on learning easier for the students to understand."

Colleen Brodbeck:

"I have only used this product for about a month or two. I actually use some of the math manipulative for my science class.

I heard that it really works.

The kids don't always like to do math especially when they are in science class. They don't always make a connection. When they use the manipulatives, it really makes the difference."

CANDICE MANN:

"I have been using CenterStage Math for about a year now.

My students love to work with learning centers.

CenterStage is a quick way to set up learning centers and have all the supplies on hand. My students love to do the activities and now know what to look for in each activity."

Comprehensive Literacy Resource books by Miriam Trehearne Testimonials

BECKY SHOWALTER:

"I just purchased this book this fall. I am using this to help my first and second grade Title 1 students. I love the graphic organizers in it. It is so teacher friendly to use

I heard about it from another teacher in our school district.

My students have been very receptive to the graphic organizers. They really like the "text-to-me" one. It is a good tool to be able to show at conferences."

FractionWorks® Testimonials

KELLY JACKSON:

"I have used this product for about 1 year. I teach basic skills mathematics to deaf students. Since they are very visual learners, this type of product is essential for making mathematical topics make sense.

For my students, it allows them to have a visual and active way to learn about fractions. This helps them to understand a topic that is otherwise extremely difficult to understand. For me, it gives me a chance to vary my teaching style."

Stanley Paul:

"Teachers immediately used the FractionWorks kit(s) with their students during a summer remediation program. During the month of September 2005 I met with the teachers and asked for responses in regards to students’ learning. Every teacher responded positively and receptively on the use of FractionWorks. They all commented on the ease of the kit and the fun they as well as their students had when using the kits. They also commented on how well the students were receptive and retained the information they learned while using FractionWorks"

Patti Zealley:

"I love hands on math! Students learn so much more and completely with hands on manipulatives

While I was substituting in sixth grade a student was struggling with fractions. I brought out the fraction strips and showed how the 1/2 is really 2 fourths and her eyes lit up. After that she never worried about fractions again. PS the strips were in my kit and I carried them with me on every substitute teach."

Claudia Henderson:

"I have been using FractionWorks for approximately 3 years. I use these products with my special education students to help them understand the concepts of fractions.

I saw this product and thought that it would work to help my students understand the concepts associated with fractions, an abstract concept that is difficult for them to comprehend.

This product has benefited me, and my students, by providing me with a way to help them understand the concepts associated with fractions. By utilizing the manipulatives, they are able to visualize equivalencies and how "the pieces fit the puzzle". FractionWorks makes teaching the concepts of fractions much easier for me and understanding those concepts much easier for my students!"

TERRI SPICHER:

"I have been using FractionWorks for one year. As a rookie teacher, this tool has been wonderful. It has allowed me to integrate math manipulatives with math standards which creates an exciting environment for my students. I'm looking forward to expanding my use of FractionWorks in other topics such as ratios and percents.

I was influenced by the visual appearance of the FractionWorks set as well as the instructional material which accompanied the set. My students first impression is based on visual appearance which leads to interest in using the tool.

This tool has allowed my students to visually see what fractions represent. This in turn has allowed me the opportunity to introduce material in a visual form which led to comprehension and application of fractional concepts. I am hoping to find a similar set for "algebra" and "integers"."

InfoTrek® Testimonials

Teresa Davison:

"It complemented our Every Day Math curriculum and followed all the strands for Preschoolers.

I have been a Title I Wonder Years Preschool teacher for 19 years and was truly amazed by one of the InfoTrek big books. I read the book "Pattern Farm" to my preschool class of four-and-five year olds this year. I have never had such an easy time teaching the concept of pattern ever before. Within one setting the students actually grasped the concept and were soon making patterns everywhere. One child pointed out patterns on a turkey feather this week. I asked a girl, "What color is your shirt?" She said, "It's a pattern!" The students demanded we make a pattern of our links for counting tens and ones. They HAVE to be a pattern! It usually takes months to teach this concept and they often never get it. Thanks so much for the wonderful writing and sharing of concepts so that a preschooler can get it. We love these books! Thanks for making my job easier and my kids more excited about learning basic math concepts."

Reading Rods® Phonics Testimonials

Denise Carithers:

"I have been using Reading Rods for two years. I use them with small, first grade Remedial Reading groups. I give them an assortment of red and blue rods and have them make CVC words--real and nonsense. They write their words on dry erase boards and share their responses. They are tested 3 times a year with DIBELS including the Nonsense Word Fluency, so this task gives them practice with nonsense words. I also have rods with word patterns on them ( at, an, et, etc._ and the children make new words.

I received a sampler a few years ago. I showed this sampler to the principal and she ordered sets for the Kindergarten and First grade teachers. I was also offered two sets--word building and sentence building. The teachers were thrilled.

Children with learning difficulties appreciate working with manipulatives in small group settings. They can manipulate the rods to make new words and can easily correct errors. It also eliminates extra writing which they do more of in the regular classroom"

CYNDEI MELINE:

"I have been using the Reading Rods in my Second Grade classroom for four years now.

I purchased the Reading Rods with a grant because they looked like a product that would interest and actively engage my second graders while they are learning and succeeding.

I am able to put the Reading Rods at an independent learning center and know that my kids are benefiting from the work and are able to complete the activities without continuous teacher instruction. I can be working at another center while one group of kids are engaged."

LORI RHEM:

"I've been using the Reading Rods and the VersaTiles for the last 5 years.

I wanted to add some manipulatives to my reading program. I also use volunteers to help with reading and this products were great for this.

I am a Title One reading teacher and our school district uses the HOSTS reading program which utilizes volunteer as reading mentors for our struggling students. Both the Reading Rods and the VersaTiles have been an awesome addition to our program. The children love using them and the activates are easy for the volunteers to use. The Reading Rod readers are very effective. It really benefits the students to use the letter cubes and helps reinforce concepts."

Arretta Johnson:

"I have used the Reading Rods for 1 year now and I have experienced super success with them in my classroom! My students love the independent work they can accomplish and I love how "on-task" they stay while working with the rods.

I saw these rods in another classroom I visited during the school year and I saw how engaged the students were while using them. I wanted my students to have the same experiences.

My students are able to work during center time either independently or in pairs with the rods. I am able to work with a small group of students while others are staying focused working with the rods. Thanks!"

EDDIE BAZAN:

"I have been using Reading Rods Phonics for five years and I have found them to be very effective with my students. It catches their curiosity, actively involves them, and it gives me an opportunity to exercise constructivist learning. Whether participating individually or in a group setting, students are motivated to continue working in a different way. Students are involved kinesthetically and are very tactile. During enrichment time, students choose to use Rods and continue a previous lesson or make their own activities, rather than to engage in a puzzle or other educational games. This is not only a very product, but an invaluable resource.

I have seen how this product actively engages students' learning and have witnessed phonetic growth as well as reading. When I first saw how Rods were accepted by students, I knew then that I was going to be using them myself.

It has given me the opportunity to actively observe student pattern thinking, student comprehension, student ability to follow directions, and to see how students have different patterns or ways to construct based on processing skills."

SunSprouts® Testimonials

Tarah Hawkins:

"I have used SunSprouts for about 7 months.

I loved that they came in a 6pack and also came with comprehension activities and a running record from. They are very user friendly.

This product benefits me because it is so easy to grab and go for my guided reading lessons. It gives my students confidence they need as readers, and gets them excited about reading!"

AMY ARNHOLT:

"We have been using these books since September 2005

Our Reading Recovery Teacher suggested we use these in small group instruction.

These books are leveled in a manner that is consistent. They are easy for teachers to pull out the right level at a moments notice. They come with reproducible that work with the book and are easy to use. They also have the Record of Oral Reading (running record) sheets ready to go. These have been time saver and fun to use for both student and teacher!"

AMY REASER:

"My son's Kindergarten class is using these books to learn to read. In three months they have given my son the confidence needed to help him learn to read!

My son's teacher strongly urged us to purchase these books for reinforcement at home.

My son is reading and so proud of himself for doing so. Your web site was extremely easy to use and order from. Thank you!"

The Super Source® Testimonials

Maria Guthrie:

"Last summer I purchased the 5-6 SuperSource teacher resource manuals. I have used them continually in the last year and a half to assist in planning quality lessons and workshops for math teachers.

Knowing that I would be conducting professional development trainings for teachers, I sought out resources that would benefit me.

My students love the activities. They have created their own twists to each of them which shows me that they are truly understanding the concepts. SuperSource has also allowed my students to showcase their writing ability through charting and journaling. Thank you for publishing such a valued resource!"

Lymeda Singleton:

"3 years with preservice teachers and inservice teacher workshops

Conference for the Advancement of Mathematics Teaching: I had browsed through the Super Source books in the exhibit hall and attended workshops where the books were mentioned as great resources.

I require my preservice teachers to prepare an activity kit with lessons with activities on the course topics using different manipulatives. The Super Source books have been one of the premier sources of activities. I also conduct professional development trainings for area school systems. I have found the Measurement (grades 7-8) to be especially helpful in meeting the TEKS (Texas standards). The activities are well received, praise is given for the practicality and applicableness of the activities, and I always recommend the books as good resource books."

VONDA STAMM:

"I have used this material for the past several years. As a mathematics consultant, I do a lot pf professional development in grades K-8. I always take professional materials and literature to my workshops for teachers to browse. The various SuperSource books are one of the resources that I take to almost every workshop. Teachers love the variety of activities in each book. They also comment on how "user friendly" the material is!

This product was recommended to me by a friend who had used the material in her classes.

My "students" are classroom teachers - they love the material. It is easy to implement and offers a wide range of questions and material for the various achievement levels of their students."

MELISSA CONKLIN:

"I have been using Super Source for 3 years. I love how this lessons are set us with the over view, the activity, the teacher questions and where's the Math? It is so helpful when I plan with my team to help us see the math in the activities that we need to focus on and the questions to ask to help our children be thinkers.

The Math Specialist at my building uses them and encouraged us to use them. I have Cuisenaire Rods in my room and was always wanting lessons to help me utilize them more effectively and with the help of Super Source I am able to use them to benefit my kids.

Super Source has benefited me by providing quality lessons that correlate with the manipulatives. It helps my students use activities and concrete object to help them learn and solve problems or come up with strategies on how to play the games."

Joan O'Brien:

"Super Source is a regular staple within our school. The activities included help students to better grasp concepts they are working on. The lessons/activities are self explanatory due to the very effective and clear instructions! The games are prepared and easy for a teacher to access.

Our county has written the activities to follow our state curriculum, though I used them prior to this.

A fun interactive way to reinforce and teach concepts."

Norma Boakes:

"I have been using this product for two years along with the "Hands On Teaching Strategies for Using Math Manipulatives: K-6" for my methods of teaching elementary school mathematics course. I have even ordered a full volume set for our library so that students can access these lessons outside of my course. I use them on a regular basis as a way to demonstrate standards-based teaching. I love the kit because it focuses on student-based, constructivist activities that highlight not only mathematics, but also global skills such as communication, problem solving, and reasoning. Students always rave about the binder and lessons. Each semester I have them teach a manipulative-based lesson based on what they've learned in my course. Many of them use lessons from the Kit and/or Super Source. Some of my favorites include "Flip Flop Around", "It's All in a Day", "Race for a Flat", and "The Case of the Missing Spinner".

I decided on Super Source because of multitude of lessons available on a variety of manipulatives and topics. I am particularly pleased with the "Where is the Mathematics" sections of the lessons. These are quite helpful for my elementary pre-service teacher because they are rusty on the mathematics!

The HOTS Kit and Super Source have allowed me to demonstrate to students what mathematics instruction should look like in today's classroom. By provided them with hands-on, manipulative based lessons, I think students are better prepared to teach the more modern mathematics curriculums such as Everyday Mathematics."

VersaTiles® Testimonials

PAT BOWERS:

"I have been using VersaTiles for nearly 6 years now. In both 2nd grade and in third grade my students have found them to be both challenging and fun. Usually I distribute the books to a small group. As they finish a page they signal me to watch them "flip". I'll give them the thumbs up or down sign and mark the page they complete on their record sheet. This works well with a large group too or when the class is working in a number of areas. As the year progresses the children enjoy having student monitors watch them "flip". The children like helping each other on difficult pages. I feel that it provides ideal practice of skills and review of important information. I particularly like that it is great for all learning styles and adapts well to all children.

It lets everyone work at their own pace and level. The children feel a real sense of accomplishment and success using VersaTiles."

REBECCA HARDEN:

"I use it as a whole group activity in the beginning to demonstrate how to use properly and then I use as a center activity during guided reading. I have been using this for three years.

I used it at another school and loved how it helped with the kids. I suggested it my principal at my newer school and how much the kids like it and how the skills are reviewed.

It has given me time for another center and it gives extra practice the kids need in a fun way."

Pamela Gorney-HALL:

"VersaTiles have been a valuable tool in my classroom for over 10 years. I initially used them in my elementary classroom. For the past 6 years I have been working with adult to earn their GED and for ESL class. The Phonics Series have been great for my ESL students learning basic sounds and beginning vocabulary Thank you ETA/Cuisenaire!!!

This is a great tool for kinesthetic learning. My students have such a wide variety of learning styles.

The VersaTiles materials have helped my students with math, science, social studies and basic reading and English skills."

Carla Kennedy:

"I have been using the VersaTiles 3-5 Science kits for 3 years now.

The fact that it was a hands-on approach and the fact that the kids had instant feedback of whether or not they had the answer to the questions correct.

This product has helped most with my students who have difficulty with comprehension because they can see very quickly where they made a mistake and go back and correct it. This really helps reinforce those concepts to those students who need it. It also provides a great review for those students who don't have any learning disabilities."

Susan Bivens:

"I have been using the VersaTiles in my Resource / Intensive classroom for the past four years, both as a supplement to teaching units as well as for enrichment and reteaching across the curriculum.

I first saw them in your catalog but was truly impressed when I had been at a conference/workshop and one of your representatives gave a demonstration then sent me back with a case and a sample packet. I immediately went back wrote a grant and was awarded the full amount to start my VersaTiles Collection. We started with Reading Phonics -3rd and Math 1st-3rd.

First and foremost I have seen a rise in my students self esteem. This then increases their self concept, when they have a good self-concept their academic scores also raise. Thank you for helping in their academic and self personal growth. We have increased our library from three folders to a Phonics(K)-5th reading, 1st-3rd math, critical thinking, problem solving, algebra, math & geography activity cards and now of course one of our favorites is the Favorite Children's Books both the Primary and Intermediate level."

ANITA DE LA TORRE:

"I have been using VersaTiles for at least five years. I use them as a way to practice a skill instead of worksheets, as centers, and also as time fillers for those students who finish an assignment early.

My kids love them! They fly through the pages and want to do more. It's a great way to practice skills and I don't have to grade papers!"

Clarese Ornstein:

"I have only used this product one year with kindergarten students.

When I taught elementary gifted students, my students really enjoyed the VersaTiles and their self-checking feature was great. I had used them mostly for math and visual thinking skills as an itinerant teacher of gifted students.

I was happy to see that this great product had been modified for use with younger children. This is a great manipulative that appeals to young students at center time in a kindergarten classroom where there are already students working at different levels."

BOBBI SIMMONS:

"I bought the first part of my VersaTiles 2 years ago when I purchased the math starter set and ten answer cases. I now also have the phonics set and ten more cases. I use the VersaTiles for center time, extra practice for after students have finished their seat work, morning work, to reinforce concepts worked on in class, and to give extra practice to students for a concept they may need extra work on.

I taught 2nd grade math during summer school 2 years ago and borrowed our Title Math teacher's VersaTiles. I loved them so much, I wanted a set for my own 1st grade class during the regular school year.

There is a lot of independence with VersaTiles. Once the students understand how they work, the students can work on them independently when there is some free time between subjects. If a student is having difficulty with a specific concept, there is extra practice available with the VersaTiles. Just find the concept that needs extra practice and work on it. The students love hands-on activities and they get very excited about working with VersaTiles. They are fun for them to use, so that makes learning fun. I was so excited about them that I bought the first 10 answer cases and the math starter set out of my own pocket. My class now also has the phonics set and another ten cases purchased by the school."

Deirdre Nelson:

"I have been using VersaTiles for over 7 years and I love the way it captivates and motivates children into learning. I have used the materials in various ways from centers to supplemental reinforcement tools to tutoring.

I bought the product because of its "self correction" capability. This meant that a student could make mistakes without the watchful eye of the teacher and make corrections if needed.

It has made abstract concepts come to life for the students in such a "playful" manner. This has made my job as teacher a lot more fun and sometimes easier because they intently listen to instructions and can't wait to prove what they have learned through VersaTiles."

TAUNYA PARSONS:

"I have incorporated VersaTiles into my curriculum both last year and now this year also.

I had a fellow teacher introduce them to me. From there, I researched them to find out more. I felt like they would be the perfect tool for students to use in the classrooms and to check-out for take-home use; being self checking.

My students love it when I say "We are doing VersaTiles". I hear comments like: "Oh goody! I love VersaTiles" or "Will you buy me VersaTiles for Christmas?" I started sending them home for extra practice. I had students begging me for a packet and VersaTiles box to take home. Since the great reviews from the students, I have ordered the VersaTiles software. They will be elated! Having VersaTiles gets the students excited and engaged. They get the immediate feedback needed, and I get to assess instantly with just a glance at the pattern."

MICHELLE MERCER:

"I have been using this product for 1 1/2 years

I decided to buy this product when a fellow teacher showed me the program. Her students were responding well to the product.

My students are a very chatty group of sixth graders. It is difficult to find new things that they enjoy and learn from but they love VersaTiles. They are focused and enjoy learning. These products fit right along with my core curriculum."

Marcie Abramson:

"I have been using the grades 6 and 7 VersaTiles with one of eighth grade math classes for about 1 1/2 years. It is a great tool to practice basic middle school skills in a fun and puzzly way! The students are able to work on their own and receive instant feedback. in fact, some of the kids created their own "VersaTiles-type game for extra credit. The students use the product on their own when I am working individually with other students.

It has freed me up to help other students while keeping the rest of the class mathematically-busy. Also, students LIKE the puzzle-form and they do not realize that they are learning!"

MIRIAM STATHAM:

"This is my second year using VersaTiles. I ordered them last year for Math and this year ordered the Reading Comprehension and Vocabulary VersaTiles

A friend at my school introduced me to them. She found them to be a wonderful learning tool for her students. After she showed them to me and how to use them, I thought they were well worth the money!

I absolutely love using the VersaTiles in both Reading and Math. They are wonderful manipulatives for the students! My students always look forward to doing something that is "hands on", rather than doing worksheets. This is a great self-checking tool for them to get immediate feedback on their work. They ask to use them often. I work in small groups with my students and this is a wonderful way to see if they are truly mastering the skill we are working on. I have recommended these to many of my friends who see my students working so eagerly with these "hands on" tiles."

JOY ESTEBAN:

"I have 2 Reading/Language Arts VersaTiles Starter sets and 1 Math Starter Set (with 6 answer cases) that I've been using for about 2 years. My students use it as an independent learning center where they go after they have completed daily reading and math tasks. VersaTiles is a "choice activity" and is always the first activity to "close" due to high demand. My students select their booklets and work on each VersaTiles puzzle independently at their seats.

Several years ago, I used to work at Sylvan Learning Centers as an instructor. Part of the Sylvan program was the use of VersaTiles. This was one of the most motivating activities in the entire program and I was impressed by how self-managing it was for all of my students.

Because of the motivational and self-managing nature, it has allowed me to spend more time with small group instruction. I have the comfort of knowing that my students are not just being distracted with "busy work" to keep them out of my hair, but they are learning standards-based concepts and skills. VersaTiles is definitely one of the most innovative and comprehensible learning programs out there."

LYNDA LEBLANC:

"I was first introduced to VersaTiles when I was teaching Kindergarten five years ago. I continue to use them help my students review subject areas already taught. I now teach Kindergarten thru fifth grade. Every student in the school has learned how to use VersaTiles in my class.

I love that students can self check their work. Students get so excited when they flip the tiles and discover that their pattern is a match for the problem solution. Students that are reluctant learners become excited and can't wait to turn the page and "test" themselves again.

VersaTiles benefit my students by allowing them the opportunity to pace themselves and to find success on their own. I use VersaTiles in a variety of ways but one of the most beneficial is for silent seat work when I am teaching using small group rotations. The students stay on task, are active participants in their own learning and truly enjoy matching the patterns."

Phillis Dickinson:

"I first used VersaTiles more than 10 years ago in a Title I Reading Lab. I have relocated twice and we have ordered VersaTiles each time. At my present assignment, my school qualified for a reading grant. We purchased VersaTiles for each first through third grade classroom for use as a supplement to our core instruction. Teachers love these and they use them in small group work. They can select activities that will reinforce the objectives being taught in the classroom. Our kindergarten teachers were very jealous that they did not get VersaTiles, but as soon as they were available we ordered them for our kindergarten classes. They arrived last week and the teachers were very excited.

I went to work for a school that already had the product, and after using it, I wanted VersaTiles for the next school I served.

It is teacher/student friendly, easy to do with little prep. It is fun for students to manipulate the tiles and they feel more like they are playing a game than working. Our students are showing great gains in overall test scores due to use of this product along with several others."

Karen Gant:

"I received my 6th grade Science VersaTiles last month. This is the first time I have had the opportunity to work with this motivational tool. I particular appreciate how the strands are completely organized and covered in each section. In my science classes we have a little competition with the VersaTiles as review of subject matter we are working on. The most recent one was last week, where we focused on rock structures. There was a fabulous lesson in the kit. Students are divided up into small teams (maximum of 3 students per team). In order to keep it fair, I allow time for teams to read the information page provided. All VersaTiles containers must remain closed. After a brief class discussion, I countdown...5, 4, 3, 2, 1 BEGIN. Students are then allowed to answer questions with their teams. The only thing they can deal with are letters and numbers. If I see any "colors" while during this exercise, then that team is eliminated. Teams that are successful in getting the right solution win little prizes. My students love VersaTiles day!

It is awesome. What a fine educational tool. After the review sessions, it seems easier for students to retain important information."

BARBARA AIDALA:

"I have been using VersaTiles in Math/Language Arts/Reading for 4 years. I discovered some old/dusty VersaTiles in a book closet at school. After using them on a trial basis with my students and having great success with them, I wrote a grant and got the newer versions of Reading/ Language Arts VersaTiles. It is a great exercise that the students can complete (on their own) when I am working with other students on needed skills. The kids love being able to manipulate the tiles to find the answers. They often ask if they can do that.

I was influenced to purchase this product because it provided an activity that the students could do on their own and self-correct. It allowed me extra time to work with individual students on specific skills with which they may need assistance.

The students enjoy completing work that does not require a pencil and paper. They almost feel like they are "playing" and in many ways don't realize that they are really working on skills."

CRAIG GARBER:

"I have been using the VersaTiles middle school (6th grade) class kit for 3 years now! Wow... has it been that long? I find the books to be very well put together by skill and the kids really dig the moving of the tiles. It is interesting to me to see how they use the word, play to describe when we use VersaTiles in class. The children see it as more of a game than class work.

I had a math mentor teacher who actually bought the first class kit for me. After a year of using the 6th grade kit, I bought the 8th grade and this year I purchased the problem solving kit.

I find this to be a great tool in class for two big reasons. First, it helps in differentiating the lesson. I can set kids to a task with the VersaTiles who are either accelerated or in need of remediation and that allows me to work with some students individually. Second, they are so engaging that my kids like "playing" with the VersaTiles. Having them like doing algebra and pre-algebra is a really happy thing for me."

JEANNA WELLBROCK:

"This is only my second year using VersaTiles. I love using them because my students love that they are able to know how they did right away. This is so important when they are working on their Math problems, because I don't want them to continue to practice the incorrect way and then find out when I have the chance to grade their papers. We use them on a regular basis to work on all different math concepts to prepare for the State Math Assessment. I also really like how I can individualize lessons for different students at different levels.

I was able to come into a classroom that had this product. I was very glad that I had this opportunity because I had used them when I student taught and loved them. If I would not have had them in my current classroom, I would have tried to purchase them because of the ability to cater to each student's needs.

This product benefits my student and myself because of the fact that they know how they did right away. This helps to cut back on the time that I spend grading papers to know how my students are doing."

SASHA KUBICEK:

"I have been using VersaTiles for over a year now in small group skills-based settings. The students are amazed by this motivating and fun way to target their most needed language arts skills! Students have their own booklets and book completion charts to keep track of their progress, and I assign specific booklets based on individualized needs.

The fact that VersaTiles is a colorful manipulative learning tool influenced me to buy at first. The fact that the booklets are so well organized by targeted skill has convinced me to keep ordering!

My students can now feel motivated and positive about practicing reading skills they used to be embarrassed of (such as phonics practice, or spelling work). I get to provide meaningful learning experiences without structuring the whole lesson around my instruction."

Charlotte Haun:

"This is a new product at our school. It was purchased to help our ESL students in science. I like the fact that it is self correcting. Helpful when students can instantly know if they are correct.

The fact that it is hands-on and can be used to design our own questions. The questions can be altered to help with students at all levels of ability.

It takes some of the pressure and stress of teaching all the time. This way students can teach themselves and help each other."

Vistas del mundo™ Testimonials

SARA BANNER:

"We began using Vistas Del Mundo in our guided reading groups earlier this fall.

It was in Spanish, related to our science and our social studies curriculum and had wonderful information and pictures.

My students are becoming more aware of cultures around the world and strategies for reading non-fiction text."
